Research expertise

  • Analytical and medicinal chemistry
  • Proteomics
  • Pharmacology
  • Pharmaceutical Sciences

Main research projects

  • Study of the neurochemical genesis of pain and nociception using model organisms (e.g. C. Elegans) and experimental models.
  • Study of the proteolytic control mechanisms of endogenous neuropeptides.
  • Development of new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of pain.
  • Study of the pharmacokinetics and metabolism of analgesics as well as drug interactions to study the risks of polypharmacy.

Approaches used

  • Liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry.
  • Caenorhabditis Elegans (C. Elegans) as a model organism to study nociception.
  • Thermotaxis and chemotaxis.
  • Quantitative proteomics; label-free quantification, isobaric labeling quantification, targeted proteomics (MRM or PRM).
  • Bioinformatics, statistical and functional enrichment analysis.
